Anxiety is an unpleasant feeling of fear, apprehension, or worry. It may be accompanied by physical sensations such as racing heart, muscle tension, shortness of breath, shakiness, sweating, nausea, or dizziness. Anxiety disorders are disorders in which anxiety has become severe enough to affect social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. Anxiety disorders include conditions such as panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and phobic disorders.
